BAPHON 11th Annual Symposium — Our First Two-Day Conference!

Reflect, Recharge, & Reignite · April 30 – May 1, 2027 · Flamingo Resort & Spa, Santa Rosa, CA

This is BAPHON's inaugural poster session! We invite members and non-members to submit abstracts on original research, quality improvement projects, or practice/education initiatives relevant to pediatric hematology/oncology and BMT nursing — an excellent opportunity to share your work, projects, and innovations with colleagues.

📅 Abstracts accepted: September 1 – December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM PT

Following the abstract review, selected authors will be notified and given a timeline and guidance for developing and submitting their finalized poster ahead of the April 2027 conference.

Poster Requirements

Poster abstracts must reflect completed projects. Abstracts for in-progress projects, or that don't meet requirements below, will be administratively rejected. Not sure if your project is ready? Complete the Abstract Readiness Self-Assessment (PDF) first.

• Title — 20 words or fewer. Not all lowercase or all uppercase.
• Abstract — 300 words or fewer, written as a narrative (no bullet points), with no references. Please indicate whether your submission is research, quality improvement, or practice/education based, and address the following:
  • Basis of inquiry — the problem, existing knowledge, and rationale for your approach
  • Purpose/objectives — your research question, project aim, or evaluation objective
  • Methods — design, sample/setting, measures, and analytic or evaluation strategy
  • Findings/outcomes — results and their implications for pediatric hematology/oncology nursing
  • Conference learning gaps — which learning gap(s) above your presentation addresses
  • Learning outcome — what learners will be able to do as a result of your presentation (e.g., recall/classify/solve/demonstrate)
• Presenting author — name, credentials, and affiliation for all authors.

Accepted posters will be displayed at the symposium and presenters are expected to attend and be available during the poster session for discussion. Final poster specifications (size and format) will be shared with accepted presenters ahead of the conference.
